News Room
(SOLON, Ohio) June 19, 2006 The chefs at LEAN CUISINE®
know eating well is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and believe you shouldn’t
have to give up all your favorite foods…like pizza, in order to maintain a nutritious
diet. LEAN CUISINE® pizzas satisfy our cravings for hot, crispy
and cheesy taste, yet are lower in calories and fat than many restaurant pizzas.
As a result, LEAN CUISINE’S® pizzas have enjoyed great success since
the launch of the Round Pizza in 2003 and the Deep Dish Pizza in 2004, which make
up the top seven pizzas in the nutritional category.1 LEAN CUISINE®
is now proud to introduce the newest addition to their Casual Eating Classics™
menu, Brick Oven Style Pizza.
With the new Brick Oven Style Pizza, you can enjoy restaurant-style pizza
for 320 calories or less! The crispy on the bottom, and chewy-on-the-inside crust,
coupled with unique toppings and flavorful sauces, evokes a restaurant experience
with every bite.
"As consumer tastes become more sophisticated, there is a demand for a pizza with
a more contemporary flavor," says Brett White, director of marketing for LEAN CUISINE®.
"Up until now, you really couldn’t get a nutritional brick oven style pizza in the
frozen aisle or even in the grocery store. Women are going to be amazed at the taste
of our new pizzas."
Brick Oven Style Pizzas deliver great taste inspired by the authentic flavors that
come from baking in a wood-fired brick oven. There are three delicious varieties
to choose from:
Roasted Garlic Chicken Pizza, featuring grilled white meat chicken
in a creamy garlic sauce topped with chucks of roasted garlic, caramelized onions,
mozzarella, romano, parmesan and asiago cheeses.
BBQ-Recipe Chicken, includes mesquite grilled chicken in a sweet
smoked barbeque sauce, with diced red onions and cilantro with mozzarella and cheddar
cheeses.
Gourmet Mushroom, features button, portabello, and cremini mushrooms
in a creamy mushroom sauce topped with mozzarella cheese sprinkled with parsley.
The LEAN CUISINE® Brick Oven Style Pizzas will be available nationwide
in grocery stores beginning in July 2006 with a suggested retail price of $3.09.
