My Journey Back To Life!

3 POSITIVE LIFE CHANGES:

My BMI went from 36.8 to 24.3!!

Used to wear size 20W jeans and size 22/24 W's tops NOW I wear a size 8 jeans and L/M's misses tops!

I have spoke to people in the grocery store who I hadn't seen for a year, spoke to them and they walked right past me! After hearing my voice they turned around and came back to congratulate me! :o)

I hadn't been heavy my entire life. But after having a full abdominal hysterectomy in the spring of 2002 I felt like I was given a new lease on life! With this newfound health that I was given, I thought "why not try to lose some weight?" I started the last days of August of 2002 by joining a work program thru Weight Watchers, weighing in at 214 pounds. That is a lot of weight to carry on a 5'4" body! I started out by taking walks; a little bit at a time was my motto. Slowly but surely I started picking up the pace and soon I was able to walk 3 miles! I work 40 hours per week and for me it's simple to grab a frozen meal and pop it into the microwave. I tried other frozen dinners, but the flavor and the choices do not compare to LEAN CUISINE®! For over a year now, I drink LOADS of H2O instead of sodas, I use portion control and I think all of those things combined have helped me to lose the weight! I still have 5 more pounds I want to lose but hey, this is a fine start! I started out by attending Weight Watcher's meetings but then decided I could do this from home on my own. Recently I had a checkup with the Dr. who performed my hysterectomy. She was reading thru the notes and then looked up at me and said "I must have made a mistake here, in the operation notes I said that some parts where hard to identify because of your obesity..." to that I replied "well yes this is true! I was obese!" She just grinned from ear to ear and said "job well done!!!" :o)
